MudFunk are united by their love of inspiring music, moving you from within and keeping those hips movin. They have been based in Vancouver for the past 4 years packing venues such as Guilt and Co., Railway Club, The Fox and more. They had the opportunity to play at Ponderosa Music Festival in August 2018 where they shared the stage with K-OS, Little Destroyer and Yukon Blonde. Past performances include Harmony Arts Festival, Victoria Ska and Reggae Festival, Vancouver Dragon Boat Festival, as well as opening for soul legend Booker T. Jones at the Vogue Theatre in February 2016.
They recently released a 6 song EP in April 2018 and are the heels of releasing two singles and a music video in May and November of 2019. MudFunk brings soul to a new level with bringing in a modern sound mixed with funk, classic Rnb and blues.
“We love how soul music tells an honest story whatever the theme may be. I write about heart break, triumph and all the things in between when in love and relationship. This is where I draw the most inspiration from.” says lead vocalist and lyricist Adriana Parejas.
They have been able to draw an audience that touches youth to those who have been listening to soul and rnb music since Aretha Franklin. Their goal for 2019 is to share and spread their music beyond their hometown and British Columbia into Eastern Canada.
MudFunk recently made its debut in film with their songs “Waiting” and “I went down to pray” by being featured in a drama film with Reel One Productions for potential release on Lifetime Networks.
